Requirements:

  1. Be over 18 years old.
  2. Income of at least €25,560 annually, plus €6,390 per each additional family member.
  3. NIE number - A personal unique number given to every foreigner who intends to stay in Spain for longer than six months. Apply for this number at the consulate, before you apply for a visa.
  4. Original Police Clearance Certificate.
  5. Medical certificate + Health insurance valid in Spain.

  1. The residence permit is usually issued for 2 years and is renewable provided you've spent at least 183 days in Spain during both years.
  2. After 5 years of holding the temporary residence permit, you are eligible to apply for permanent residency.
